What the actors did is not only to finish their work in Justified Seasons 1-2 DVD, but also to render viewers a great chance to get a deeper insight into life and moral rules.
Characters fight to move in on the Bennetts' territory, to set up an Oxy-farming operation, to bribe sheriffs, and most importantly, to unearth Dickie's. "Slaughterhouse" is the story of fathers and sons. Three times we see father figures rejecting their "sons": first with Theo and Quarles, followed by Limehouse and Errol.
First in his hopped up twitchy moments with the Christian family in the van, and then with how his cool customer attitude when seeing Raylan made me die laughing, this was a nice final run for the character. Another problem with this season is that the Limehouse character was badly underwritten. Only in the very last episodes did he score some points, trying to manipulate the situation.
Boyd is meeting with Limehouse. I love how Boyd doesn’t react to the mention of Devil. Limehouse returns Boyd’s money and calls them quits. He calls Theoâ€"I love these scenes at Theo’s villa. The framing is so tight to cut out any sign of LA in the background, but you can hear helicopters in the sound mix.
"Holy shit, it's a piggy bank!" could have seemed entirely inappropriate if read by another actor, and it was wonderfully surreal watching him reach for his severed arm.
Or maybe Johnny can build up the right infrastructure around him to take Boyd on in season four! Nah, I doubt it. I give him six episodes to live. This season closes on Winona (Natalie Zea) offering such a look toward Raylan as he leaves. Are we to take this as a transformational moment in his life?
There must be numerous couples who get married because of objective reasons. Especially for females, they do not want to give up a new life even if at the cost of their happines. However they are lucky that they still love each other when they broke up and getting back together.
Meanwhile, Ava is giving the gears to Ella Mae and puts the fear of Ava’s Tremendous Wrath into her. Might have been enough to clue Ava into the fact that it was not Arlo who betrayed them, though.
What is necessary is that the new villain be a match for the other characters, a real challenge to them.
