Women nowadays live independently and braver. With the same rights as men, women choose what they want to do, and they do it. Traveling and backpacking is no exception. Most women wish to go on a trip abroad alone, but it is discouraged by many because they believe that women are not supposed to travel alone. It’s the safety factor everyone has in mind. It is because females who travel alone attracts the negative attention and become an easy target for kidnappers, pickpockets, and drug dealers. The truth is safety is never guaranteed and it mainly relies upon your behavior and look, as well as how aware you are. There are several tips to have safety trip and will ensure more relaxed and fun traveling experience.
• Have an inquiry about your desired destination, and learn about some of the main attribute of the country and its nation through travel guides and through Internet. It is important to know the country before you go there.
• When you’re travelling alone is not the best time to wear expensive accessories, jewelry and brand clothes. The wealthier you appear, the more likely you are to be targeted by thieves. It is better if you dress conservatively. If you dress flashy, in expensive-looking or bright clothes, in low cut shirts or high skirts, if you show a lot of skin, etc these are all things that have resulted in attacks for people with bad intentions.
• Book a place to stay ahead of time, and choose carefully the location of the accommodation call the reception desk; check online forums, blogs, opinions, etc. about the place.
• Don’t share your personal information, and don’t fall for everything strangers offer. It is expected that hypocrisy is everywhere despite cultures or morals, however it’s important to make friends. You don’t need to be completely honest and detailed with strangers, so you can simply say that you are expecting someone shortly. At the end, just stay alert and trust your instinct the most.
• Learning some of the basic phrases of the country’s dialect is always helpful. It is more convenient if you know some of the local language in case you need to ask for help or directions.
• Do not leave your food or your drink unattended. This is the perfect chance for someone to slip something into your drink. Be alert to freaky situations which may give someone the opportunity. It only takes two seconds to drop something in your drink. If someone sits near you, and a moment later someone across the room drops something, drawing attention, be cautious of what may have been done to your drink while you weren't looking
• You may not have a petty idea of where you are, but looking lost or in deep thoughts puts you in a probable danger. Try to look confident and watch out for your purse or a backpack. Don’t leave your luggage unattended while you are trying to read the signs.
